Extend a Suites Des Moines

Booked this room last minute on a long road trip. Took forever to find the building because the name on the sign in their parking lot didn't match the name on Hotels.com. The instant we pulled up we noticed the ply wood covering at least one window in every room but we went in anyway. The front desk attendant was friendly but she had us check out the room before checking us in, that should have been the red flag to make us leave but we lugged our bags upstairs (no elevator) and went in the room. We were in there for about 60 seconds before cockroaches started crawling all over the walls in the room and on the floor in the bathroom. We hightailed it back downstairs and the lady was not surprised at all about the bugs and didn't offer a different room or any other solution. She assured us we wouldn't be charged so we left as fast as possible and found a different hotel. Aside from the bugs, the place was extremely run down, dirty, and overall disgusting. This place should be condemned, at the very least I think Hotels.com might want to remove it from their offerings because it really is a dump and not even worth the $51/night they were charging.

Booked through hotels.com, got off work from a hospital at 3am, no one will answer the phone, or is working to check me in. Banged on the door for half hour. Ended up having to leave and find another room. HORRIBLE!!!!!!!

Nasty. Cock roaches. No ac and its 93 degrees. And there's no pool. Its hot. They don't fix things. They are rude. I only ustayed a couple of days. I plan on calling the health department and possibly suing for false advertisement.
