We were in Orange City for a family wedding at two different hotels when my niece canceled the rooms but was still charged for it the day after the wedding. When they called to talk to someone they said she haf to call back on Monday to talk to "Robert" but on Monday when they called there was no Robert that worked there.

DON’T SEND YOUR COLLEGE KIDS HERE! My daughter had an interview at Northwestern College, this hotel is in walking distance. After checking into our first floor room, we discovered the window had no lock. The woman at the front desk offered us a “stick” to secure the window. It was 12 inches too short. She said they were full and I could use the “stick” or come to the front desk for a refund. When I returned to the front desk a man was working. He refused to refund my money and told me the town was safe. He spoke over me when I tried to explain what the woman had offered me. His creepy, condescending tone only increased the unsafe feeling and I chose to leave. I agree, Orange City does seem safe. But having a secure hotel room is a fundamental expectation/requirement.

Do not stay at this motel! They are dishonest. A warning to anyone arranging block of rooms for a wedding or an event!!!! I will never stay at another Dutch Inn anywhere. Especially the one in Orange City IA!!!! Beware!
