HAMPTON INN - SUITES WICHITA-N

This is one of the best Hampton Inns that I have stayed at. The room was very clean and decorated quite nicely. The staff were very friendly.

I have stayed at this hotel many times and have always had a good experience, except the last time I stayed there was because my son was in the ICU at a nearby hospital. While my son was at the hospital he received gifts and a card from co-workers. Since he was at the hospital, I kept the gifts and card in my hotel room. When I returned back to the hotel one evening, the gifts and card that had been in a gift bag and on the desk were missing. Housekeeping had been in the room earlier to replaced towels. I also had paper plates and silverware left on the counter so I could use them to reheat food in the microwave that I had in the refrigerator and they had been thrown away. Housekeeping should not get rid of anything that is not in the trash. I let the front desk know the situation and they were very kind and said they would contact the manager and the housekeeping manager. Needless to say, I checked out the next day and went to another hotel. I waited a whole day thinking that someone from the hotel would contact me. I finally called and talked to the manager. He said they were still accessing the situation. He asked the value of the gifts and I told him and they did reimburse me, but I have never heard back. I have never heard back from the housekeeping supervisor with even an apology. So if you stay at this hotel, hopefully you will not get the same housekeeper as I had. And if you stay there, don't leave valuables in the room.

There were some pros and cons to our stay. Let me start with the staff was wonderful. Heather at the front desk was so kind and helpful. I had booked adjoining rooms (very last minute) and did not realize that adjoining rooms are based upon availability and not guaranteed. It was a special occasion so that devastated me. She really went above and beyond to help. Also, the night staff helped me with an internet issue (I am sorry, I cannot remember their names). The con was being on the first floor. The person/people above us were so loud and walked for hours in their room. I would have called the front desk, but it isn't like they could tell the people not to walk in their own room. It was the weirdest thing, non-stop pacing for hours. I would recommend this hotel, but only if you can get the top floor.
