When we arrived staff personnel was friendly however, when we got into the room, it has a musty smell. We booked the hotel because it had an outdoor pool. We’re in town to see grandchildren and great grandchildren and the pool is the main entertainment. Pool is closed, when we inquired about it, staff says they are not opening the pool this due to a major damage. If this wasn’t enough, the internet went down, phone didn’t work, no tv. Tv is very small well maybe a 32” but small when you can’t see well. Had to walk to the office, there is no easy way into the hotel. The front is easy enough, but only if you are staying on that floor near the office. All other rooms you will use an outside door to get in. If you have a lot luggage as we did, we were staying 4 nights, that’s tough with no cart to unload all at once. Once to the office to let them know the tv, internet and phone didn’t not work staff said he had just reset the server. But not sure why the phone didn’t work. Ok no big deal, this was at 5pm. Had dinner with family came back at 9pm. Still no internet, tv still didn’t work and of course the phone is dead. Had to WALK back to the office to see what was going on. Staff was on the phone with computer guy but the lobby tv was working. So I asked why our room wasn’t working. Of course we had checked the input for the cable, check! Staff did come to the room and found the source of where the cable is connected was not on the tv, tv fixed at 10pm. Still no internet and phone. Went to bed called it night. Breakfast is very minimal. Sausage gravy, biscuit, cereal, yogurt (one selection) waffles. May sound like a lot but not in what we know of a continental breakfast. No instant oatmeal or grits, apples only for fruit no variety. No hot chocolate but had hot water I guess for hot tea but had no tea bags out. No bread, bagels or muffins. Only milk is in a thermos but did not label as to which it was, full fat, low or no fat. Upon arriving back to the room from breakfast key card would not work therefore had to go back to have it rekeyed. Second time to try to get in, still did not work. Said it would take the maintenance man 5-10 mins to get to us. Said not good my husband who is deaf is in there. So maintenance came promptly. Still 30 mins later no keycardwill open the door. Husband woke up at 10am ( take it I’ve been out of the room since 0830), door opened but still cannot leave room. Maintenance got someone else on phineadstill no luck. So now it 1030 and says it will be an hour for someone to come in but don’t close your without someone inside. Now we can’t go anywhere until the door is fixed. Two hours later still no one had showed up. We are still waiting, this review was done in a current situation hoping to keep anyone else from making the mistake we did. Staff were friendly and apologized again and again, that’s nice but it doesn’t improve our stay or meet our expectations. We will not be staying here again.

First of all, my husband and I are Choice Hotel members and we travel a lot, always staying in one of their hotels. We were traveling through on a Friday night and were both very tired. I had made our reservation (for 2 nights) while we were driving down the interstate . It was about 1am when we finally arrived & checked in. We had to pay a $75 deposit on our room even though they had our card on file and we’ve never had to do that. The way they have this hotel setup is unlike any we have ever been to. Our room was on the opposite end of the office, which was fine. We had to park a ways away from the door to go in but again no problem. We went upstairs and the hotel room had a very musky smell!! We were so tired we just tried to overlook it. Then we went back down to grab the rest of our stuff and when we got back to the door to go in the key wouldn’t work so we ended up having to walk back to the office and back to our room again which again was on the complete other end of the hotel. At this point my husband let the man at the front desk know that we would only be staying one night, not two. The man said okay at first, and then tried to say that they needed a 24 hour notice and it would only be a 14 hour notice. My husband let him know that he would just call choice hotels and the man changed his mind real quick. The microwave had an error code, and the tv was very small. My husband always enjoys a good bath but there was no stopper. We both agreed that the bed was very comfortable and the shower was nice and hot so no complaints there. It’s such a shame because this hotel really has potential and it’s in a great location! It really just needs a good deep cleaning, some repairs & upgrades Just do yourself a favor and pay the $5 or $10 extra dollars and stay at a different choice hotel!!
