Cottonwood Suites Louisville Fair & Expo

I called Cottonwood Hotel in Louisville to cancel my reservation the day before I was supposed to arrive for a weekend stay because I could not see to drive to Kentucky due to an inflammatory eye condition. Hotel management would not refund the $500 reservation I had made through Priceline because it was beyond the cancellation deadline when I attempted to cancel, despite the fact that I had been in the emergency room, unable to see, at the time I would've had to cancel. The 2 desk attendants I spoke with about the issue were also very rude and offputting with their total lack of sympathy for my situation.

We booked this hotel through a tournament travel website as we were visiting the Expo Center for a weekend of AAU girls volleyball. Unfortunately, we were price gouged pretty bad with the visit costing us nearly $500 for two nights! This would have been fine if the accommodations lived up to that price. We had noisy wall mates which made for a difficult night's rest given the girls were in the AM wave of the competition both days, we had a bath tub that would not drain so, not only were we standing in gross water as we showered, but we had unknown hairs from all over the body coming up from the drain from visitor's past (yuck) and we didn't have maid service show up at all during our stay. We came back after a long day of competitive volleyball to an unkept room. Like I said, some of this could have been overlooked or dealt with had the price not been astronomical. Overall, pretty disappointed and would not recommend this hotel.

I would love to give this hotel a 5 rating. There are good things about it such as the lady at the front desk when we checked in was wonderful, the room was clean, the breakfast was pretty good and we liked the exercise room. The bad part was that they had booked a family reunion, which I’m sure would have been fine but a lot of people that were not staying at the hotel came to this reunion. They were bring in large amounts of alcohol.There were people in the dining area, patio and in the parking lot playing loud music late, walking and driving around the parking lot late, pulling up next to other guests cars, flashing lights at each other and acting very suspicious. There was no security at the hotel! We were not comfortable with this going on. We will never stay here again!
