I am not sure why this hotel is rated as a 3 star property. They offer none of the amenities that I could get at a basic 2 star budget hotel. There is no breakfast of any kind offered here. Be prepared to hunt around for a decent breakfast spot in the area or settle for the deli down the street. It will be even more annoying because they have an entire bar/lounge area that will be closed and gated for "special events only" although I did not see a single "special event" happening there. So the amenities are closed off to the actual paying guests. Coffee is available in a converted closet space by the elevator with a couple of thermoses. It will not be available after a certain time of day, they will tell you to use the filthy Keurig in your room. Bring your own mugs and glasses. When I checked in, one of the glasses was crusted over with a thick white liquid from whoever used it last. The mug had a layer of dust in it. Bring some flip-flops for the shower (yep, just like a college dorm). My shower was stained with dirt and the drains were disgusting. The sink drain detached and had hairball in it (not my hair). To get to the French Quarter you will either need to ride the streetcar or walk for 20 minutes (including under a sketchy freeway overpass). Bring your own toiletries. If you are lucky and the shampoo/conditioner/soap dispensers in the showers aren't already empty, know you will be sharing the soap with everyone else that stayed in that room. The dispensers may look crusty and have hair on them, too. Don't look in the closet in your hotel room. That is where all the dust bunnies live. Don't ask to speak to the manager about anything. You will never hear from him at all no matter how politely you ask. Also, I have better quality bath towels in my own home. Should've brought 'em, too.

This place is simply amazing. I can't say anything bad about this establishment. The staff is so welcoming. The location is key. So many great restaurants close by, some even walking distance. When you walk in the smell of luxury hit you and you just know you make the right choice for your stay. Room was nice and clean. It smelled like I cleaned it myself at home and the value of our stay was very reasonable. I'm from New Orleans so I know this place goes beyond the limits yo make sure their guests have a wonderful time and comfortable stay. I would most definitely stay here next time I'm in town. Now there is construction going on next door but it didn't bother us at all.

St. Charles Coach Housw is my go-to hotel when staying in New Orleans. It's on the trolley line and has free guest parking.
