Comfort Suites Downtown New Orleans

Super experience! Ambiance, lobby, breakfast, staff, rooms, comfort, beds, temperature, quiet, location was perfect. I would definitely recommend this spot in the CBD district. Great walk and convenient. Big shouts to all the staff-everyone was so helpful.

Unfortunately, my backpack was stolen from our room while we were sleeping inside it on Friday night, April 11, 2026 (into Saturday morning). We immediately went to the front desk to report it Saturday morning. Staff told us they could not review the security footage or perform a lock audit at that time and said they would call once someone was available to do so. ( never did received a call ) We returned later Saturday evening and asked if the bag had been found. The front desk confirmed it had been returned to our room but had no additional details about who found it or how it was returned. When we went upstairs, the backpack was sitting on the bed — but all of the credit cards, debit cards, and cash were missing. After checking the rest of our belongings, we discovered that cash from a different suitcase and a work iPhone had also been stolen (we believe this happened when the backpack was placed back in the room). We filed two police reports (I have both case numbers if anyone from Marriott would like to follow up) and immediately switched hotels. In total we are out roughly $600 in cash, over $800 in fraudulent debit-card charges, a work iPhone, and many hours spent canceling cards and replacing them. Very disappointed in the security and the hotel’s response.

Walking distance to Bourbon street and the domes. Our room was facing the front of the hotel and there is loud music out there but couldn’t figure out where it was coming from. Loud talking. But it’s NOLA so…. The room was clean and the beds were comfy. Air worked well when we put it at 67. Security at front door after hours made it feel safer. But the area isn’t unsafe feeling at all. A good option for a reasonable hotel in an easy to navigate area.
