If I could give the HH Whitney 10 stars I would! Convenient location on quiet residential street with landscaped median. Beautiful 19th C house and landscaping in front and in the spacious backyard and delightfully curving pool. Vintage interior decor and comfortable seating. Proprietor Glenn has thought of everything in the room that a visitor might need re toiletries, magnifying makeup mirror, seating, lighting. But what makes this BB outstanding is the owner’s engagement, warmth, interest in guest comfort, and custom cooked fabulous breakfasts, different each day. And the Roman statuary, garden planters, and extensive foliage around that gorgeous pool made me swoon. Worth a trip to New Orleans just to relax at the Whitney!

We stayed here over Halloween. At first Glen is a superfriendly an knowledgeable host. If you have a question about New Orleans, just ask him. The house itself urgently needs a renovation. At our room the window glass was brooken, he tried to fix it only with a tape. That did not work and so we had fresh air all the time, even when we did not want it. In the house itself there is a lot of stuff. Half of it nobody needs. So it is so overcrowded, that it makes it a little shabby. The garden urgently needs a gardener to be honest and the entrance hall has to be cleaned a little better. The breakfast was OK. But we had much better breakfasts in Louisiana or the other southern states of the US. This B&B could be one of the best in New Orleans because of its fantastic owner, but it needs a renovation.

My wife and I stayed at the HH Whitney House over New Years. Glenn is a warm, knowledgeable and friendly host. Upon arrival, we were introduced to the house, B&B rules and other portions of the property (pool and hot tub) along with a quick study of where we were located in relation to the city. Glenn was very accommodating on being available based on our timeframe for breakfast. The house is simply a gem and truly gives you an idea of the history of New Orleans. Our room was perfect with a balcony and spacious shower. The location on Esplanade allowed us to walk a mile to the French Quarter along with walking a mile the other direction to the beautiful park. Parking was never an issue and Glenn has options if you can’t find a spot on the street. After getting our bearings, we couldn't recommend a better location to explore New Orleans than Glenn's home.
