Soniat House

Clearly we didn’t stay here in March of ‘26, but we have visited many times over the years, and I just couldn’t bear to see the negative reviews that came prior to the hotel’s closing without posting an elegy of sorts. This was one of the most magical places ever, with a distinct style that, perhaps, not every traveler appreciated. But for those who did, it was beyond comparison, and we all long for some word of its reopening!

We were lucky to score this place for our group of 10 to stay over Super Bowl LIX weekend. It had been reserved by some unlucky Bills fans but when they lost to Detroit it became available for our group who were Eagles Fans! Besides the fact that WE WON the other best thing about our trip was this house. Not only is the location fantastic being in a quiet neighborhood about 10 min walk to Bourbon Street but also the property itself gave our whole visit an extra NOLA kick. The property is a beautifully restored and maintained authenticc NOLA town home and it was a pleasure to come home to each night as it provided us fantastic accommodations both inside and out on the second floor outside covered porch. When we first arrived we were greeted by the house manager who gave us a brief tour and let us know he was readily available with any needs or questions. We had requested ahead of time that the kitchen be stocked with beers, booze, mixers, milk for coffee, juice and some snacks and all was done to our great satisfaction. The rooms were all comfy and well appointed, everything worked and we felt like we were part of the city. Highly recommend for large or smaller groups like ours, a family, or even a couple looking for a more authentic NOLA stay. Would definitely stay again.

Stayed 4 nights here with my husband in November 2020... I got the recommendation from Andrew Harper. It was such a wonderful experience.. feel like home..charming townhouse.. great location with walking distance to everywhere.. staff is friendly, attentive and helpful... the manager got us upgraded to suite #16 is facing the garden. We requested breakfast in the garden and It was just fabulous. The bed is clean and comfortable, the bathroom updated and clean. The place is so unique and has NoLa vibes. They handle well for Covid 19 pandemic with mask and everything. we even got an option to do non contact express check out. I would go back to stay in this charming house again.
