I am extremely disappointed with my stay at the Riverfront Hotel. While every employee I interacted with was polite and courteous, the condition of the hotel and the level of service were completely unacceptable.
The worst part of my stay happened on the second night when I saw a mouse running around the desk in my room. I screamed, and my daughter saw it too, confirming that I wasn't imagining it. I immediately called the front desk, only to be told there were no other rooms available. Instead of moving us, engineering was sent to the room. Their solution was to bang around the room in an attempt to scare the mouse away, then tell me it had "probably run out." That did absolutely nothing to ease my fears. I am terrified of mice, and I spent the entire night anxious, unable to sleep, wondering if it would come back.
The next morning, after my night of terror, the manager was finally able to move us to another room on a different floor. However, the compensation offered for such a traumatic experience was insulting. Since my stay was prepaid, they simply waived the taxes and fees for that one night. That hardly makes up for spending an entire night in fear because of a rodent in a hotel room. I stayed a total of five nights, and the experience cast a shadow over the entire trip.
Unfortunately, the problems didn't stop there. In the new room, I had to wait an hour for towels after calling the front desk twice. On another occasion, I waited over two hours for shower gel after calling four separate times. Basic housekeeping requests should not require repeated phone calls or hours of waiting.
The only bright spot during my stay was the staff. Every employee I encountered was friendly, respectful, and genuinely pleasant. However, courteous employees cannot make up for serious cleanliness issues, inadequate service, and a response to a rodent problem that fell far below what any guest should expect.
Finding a mouse in a hotel room is unacceptable. Being expected to stay in that room because there were no vacancies is even worse. Between the rodent, the poor response, the inadequate compensation, and the repeated delays in receiving basic amenities, this was one of the most stressful hotel experiences I've ever experienced.

The bad: the hotel rooms themselves left something to be desired. The good: we loved everyone who worked here… ESPECIALLY LEONARD!!! I truly believe we had the best bartender in all of New Orleans all to ourselves. Kurt was awesome, too. They really made it special.

This was the most disgusting hotel I’ve ever stayed in for a business trip. On the surface, it looked like a very nice hotel. Rooms looked well furnished and lobby was nice. But at night, I saw a mouse running out of my room and the same thing happened in a colleague’s room on the second floor. Both of us also had bugs in our room. Sink was clogged and a bad smell emitted from the sink every morning. Half the power outlets didn’t work so I tried to use the power strip behind the nightstand only to find it had not been cleaned in years and I was afraid to touch it! Our company paid for an entire block of rooms for a conference. When I complained they only gave me $200 off. Navage, the front desk supervisor was very condescending to me. Ridiculous! Stay away!!! This place is awful!!
