Hinckley's Dreamwood Cottages

How come cabin 8 wasn't like those pictures? We had a paint flaking, old dirty 1940s kitchen cabin with an old window Air conditioning unit creating a musty interior. If you have allergies, leave. Driveway has huge holes getting to the cabin, in fact, all over. Photos shpped driveway. In fact, don't go!

Apparently this property is under relatively new ownership and they are definitely putting money into renovating the cottages and improving the property. Our cottage was completely renovated inside (new bathroom, new floors, new lighting, new paint, new deck and steps, etc). The bed had kinda old bedspread on it, but sheets and pillowcases seemed newer. Pros: Inside seemed clean, all renovated etc. Staff in office was nice. Fairly nice forested setting. Looks like they just are wrapping up putting in a new pool. That will be a nice addition. Cons: Hot tub looked gross like it hadn’t been cleaned in a long while. There was a ring around the waterline and entire inside of tub had grime on surfaces under water. Filter had a lot of debris/needles on it. Short story, don’t be excited or pay more to rent one with a hot tub. They clearly don’t pay attention to or clean them. We absolutely didn’t set foot in it. Also, in spite of renovations, there were tons of springtails inside cottage and outside on deck and by hot tub. They love moisture so I assume there are underlying moisture issues, at least at our cottage (# 9). Place has a lot of potential, but currently gets a very generous 3/5
