West Street Hotel

The close proximity to Acadia makes West Street Hotel an excellent choice while in Bar Harbor. The staff was very communicative and helpful throughout my stay. It's a very clean and quiet hotel and it's in the heart of Bar Harbor so once your car is parked in the complimentary parking lot there's no need to drive anywhere

This hotel is really nice and is in a great location. However, they charge one flat rate for all rooms that are "harbor view" when 3 of those rooms do not have a harbor view hardly at all and do not have a porch just a sliding door that opens to a railing. All the other rooms have this beautiful, large, porch with rocking chairs and a table so that you can sit out and enjoy the view. I was randomly put in a room with no porch while my sister got the much better room.....yet we both had to pay the same rate! They don't put anything in the reservation telling you that. It took me complaining to two different managers for them to give me a measly $200 credit. I was very disappointed. For what they charge, it's inexcusable not to be honest about the room type up front. Just make sure if you get a harbor view that on check in you ask for one with the porch or raise it ahead of time.

Had a terrible experience at a Vrbo in town and needed to find a place to stay for a couple of days so we could explore Acadia. Took a shot that the West Street Hotel could accommodate us. Luckily, James, was able to secure us two nights. He was so helpful and understanding of our situation. We didn’t expect to receive a room with a balcony overlooking the harbor. Truly an amazing stay at this property. Rooms are beautiful, well appointed and spotlessly clean. Loved the pantry area where you could get bottled water, Kind bars, coffee or fruit at any time of day. There were two dogs who alternated their time at the front desk which added to the charm of the hotel… so friendly and welcoming! Perfect location to see the town of Bar Harbor and close to everything Acadia! Bravo to James and the entire staff. Job well done!
