HILTON GARDEN INN FREEPORT DOW

Large lobby with many places to sit including tables for dining, waiting, leisure, etc. A great shop with snacks, beverages, potential needs you may have lost or forgotten, etc. You can buy breakfast in an area of the lobby. Coffee and tea available in the lobby for breakfast. There's also a bar. The bar has tables, as well, for those who want to eat dinner there. There are pictures of all the above content. The whole hotel is clean and comfortable. The bed is comfortable. They have the usual shampoo, conditioner and soap, but they also supply a large bottle of lotion, which is unique. Ample space to walk around in the room. The mini fridge works better than average. It was so cold that some drinks had ice in them. They also have microwave and coffee in the rooms. Great location. Within walking distance to LL Bean, McDonald's, Domino's, numerous other restaurants and all the shops.

Checked in on Saturday afternoon. Room was located on the back side of the building and 35 feet from train tracks. Trains were not a big problem. Both the sink and shower drains were clogged. Carpet had a stain that looked like dog poop. Ice bucket had mold on the rim and bottom side of lid. Room was not cleaned nor was the drains cleared until Monday. For $440 per night I at least expect dirty towels to be replaced. Breakfast is $17 per person even if you only have cereal. This was not a good stay.

I travel quite a bit and stay in hotels probably 50 nights a year. This is by far the worst hotel I’ve stayed out in years. I’m not sure how the Hilton brand can attach their name to this place. This is like a lower end motel 6 that hasn’t been updated since the mid 80’s. The AC was basically non existent and the air quality in the place was just muggy and stale. I knew the minute I stepped into the elevator we over paid for our room. The room decor was very meh and the beds were uncomfortable. We got down to eat and get a pizza, and who the server said was amazing. It was a prefab shell. $28 for a prefab pie. This place is not worth the $300+ a night they charge. This is a $69.99 hotel. Book elsewhere.
