KNIGHTS INN ELLSWORTH BAR HARBOR

The room was rundown nothing like the pictures we saw online. There were bugs all outside the front door as we walked in. . A swarm of different bugs. I didn’t feel comfortable at all.! We paid for three days and I left went somewhere else. the next day. It’s disappointing that the. Management of the establishment can’t take constructive criticism and learn from their mistakes and try to improve the customer experience.. I believe there’s a lot of potential if they could fix some of these issues. They may have other rooms that are better maintained, but this was my experience with the one that I was given.

I was pleasantly surprised! Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect after reading some mixed reviews, but the room was very clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The kitchenette was a great bonus—the fridge was just the right size, and both the A/C and heat worked perfectly when needed. The atmosphere was relaxed, with a nice mix of summer travelers, and everyone was generally friendly. I enjoyed grabbing free coffee each morning from the office area, which also has a ton of helpful brochures for local attractions like Acadia National Park, Schoodic Point, kayaking trips, bike trails, and even bus tours. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and I had no issues at all during my stay. For a quick bite, I highly recommend Jordan’s Snack Bar just down the street—great lunch, ice cream, and even an outdoor seating area with entertainment. The location couldn’t be better: close to Ellsworth for shopping (Walmart is just five minutes away!) and perfectly situated between Bar Harbor/Acadia and the Schoodic Peninsula. Overall, this is an excellent, convenient, and affordable spot to stay. I would absolutely return next time I’m in the area!

The motel is older but very clean. Room included a kitchen, cooktop, microwave and refrigerator. Staff were extremely friendly. Great restaurant (Helen's) just down the street. Price was reasonable for the time of the year and less expensive than the Choice or Wyndham Hotels. We stayed for two nights and definitely would return.
