Great Location, but nothing else to brag about. To be honest, I'd rather stay in a mid-range hotel.

The host at the front desk was curt and unwelcoming. He seemed annoyed that he had to check me in at all. He rushed through a ton of directions and ended by being clear that there is NO BREAKFAST. Only coffee in the lobby. And if I wanted something better I would need to go across the street to the cafe.
The main photo of the Inn features a large, beautiful Victorian house. Well I wasn’t given a room there. I had to walk next door to what I think is a condo. It seems folks were living there full time. I had to walk three flight of stairs to get to a room.
The room has old furniture that hasn’t been updated in a long time. The walls were thin. I could hear folks in the room next door (or below—hard to know) talking. Lots of pot smokers in the building that night.
The toilet was broken (wouldn’t flush). When I called the front desk, no one picked up.
The main window would not close the last 2 inches. Since my room was facing the main street, I had to hear loud traffic and students all night. I think I got 4 hours sleep.

I have stayed at a Cambridge house several times over the three years my daughter has been at Tufts and love it. It is a quirky place with loads of shabby chic charm and a great location near the red line, porter and Davis squares. For me, for the money and location, it's ideal. I have found the amenities ample for my needs, though it is a little inconvenient to get coffee from the main building if you are in one of the other buildings, the price and location more than make this worthwhile. The little kitchenettes here and there are nice, too. The best way to book is to call the main number, ( I hate booking.com, anyhow, and it's more expensive) then the Cambridge house staff sends an email and you must reply. They use a paper booking system and the whole thing is a bit odd and cumbersome, but this is, again, offset by price and location and a sort of odd charm. I think I would continue to stay here even if my daughter moves, if I come to Boston area,
