The Inn at the Oaks

Inn at the Oaks B&B totally exceeded our expectations! Very conveniently located right across from the Salt Pond Visitor Center (which had outstanding films about the history and geology of the Cape as well as great recommendations on hikes). Mary Rose and Bernie, the innkeepers, are charming and so interested in pleasing each guest (adjusting their breakfast menu, providing beach towels and chairs, and even setting us up to meet with an old friend on their back patio). Our room had a comfortable bed and opened out to a back porch with rockers. The bathroom was a bit small, but that’s what you get in an inn constructed in the 1800’s! Bernie and Mary Rose’s knowledge of local restaurants, beaches and local history was extensive and greatly enriched our experience of the Cape. We would love to return to this beautiful spot!!

Five stars is the minimum that the Inn deserves. My husband and I initially booked 10 days and were having such a lovely time in our “Cape Cod home away from home” that we extended our stay by an additional five weeks! Innkeepers Marirose and Bernie are kind, considerate, and always making sure you’re comfortable. From the breakfasts they serve to the beautiful common areas, patios and garden. And the rooms – stunning and supplied with everything you need. It’s impossible not to relax and feel welcome. The Inn is perfectly located, in our favorite part of the Cape. Just minutes from the National Seashore on the Atlantic, and equally beautiful beaches and also sunsets on the Gulf side. We can’t wait to come back with the rest of our family!

We have stayed at The Inn at the Oaks more than once. We visit Eastham to visit family in the area. MaryRose and Bernie are the ultimate Innkeepers, and we do enjoy staying in bed and breakfasts and have met many. They are kind and helpful and quite knowledgeable about the area. MaryRose is an excellent cook and the breakfast are delicious and nicely presented. The afternoon cookies are a great "pick-me-up". The first time we stayed MaryRose and Bernie had just purchased the Inn. We loved our stay then and we enjoyed it so much, yet again, just recently. They have made some very positive changes since our last stay. The breakfast is now served at your table, rather than buffet style and each meal was delicious. I really prefer this style of dining and the service was wonderful. Bernie makes a most pleasant waiter, happy to chat about your CC activities. The dining room has changed making it feel more spacious with small café tables and chairs spread throughout and also into the living room area. One can also choose to sit outside for breakfast on the sweeping wrap around porch. The gardens on the property have been updated and are just beautiful. They have a very nice firepit that is a new amenity. Keep in mind this is a quintessential older Cape Cod Style home. It has all the quirks that older homes do and it is very cozy and comfortable. We stayed in the sunset room and It was spacious enough, with good closet space, a small but nice bathroom with walk-in shower. The Inn does have central air but we also had a window unit incase it was needed. This room is on the 2nd floor, so if stairs pose a problem, this may not be for you. Our family visited one evening and we sat out on the rooftop patio, to enjoy a glass of wine. We then moved down to the common living room area to continue to socialize. We always head to the beach at least once while visiting and The Inn at the Oakes, has beach chairs and beach towels for guest's use. The location of the Inn is perfect being mid-Cape essentially. It is within easy reach to Coastguard Beach, Nauset Lighthouse, Cape Cod National Seashore, Salt Pond. We enjoy our stays at Inn at the Oakes and will return again and again.
