Mansion House Inn

If we could give zero stars, we would! My husband and I planned a birthday getaway to Martha’s Vineyard. The Wednesday before we left the weather forecasts a nor’easter weekend with high winds right along the path of where we would be staying so he called Mansion house to cancel our reservation and he was told there’s NO REFUND! He asked the lady if she’s aware of the impending weather and she said yes but the ferry’s are still running, so ok, we drove the 4.5 hours drive from NY to Woods hole ferry, put the car on the ferry and off the the vineyard, it was very windy from we got on the ferry, we checked in at the hotel, the next day all the buzz was about the impending storm so we went to the Ferry’s office to change our departure time early Saturday morning only to find out no ferry would be going out on Saturday & they were only two trips left out of vineyard haven for the day. (1:15 & 2:30) We had to hurry back to the hotel grab our stuff, checked out, a whole day early and all they said to us was, “so sorry” no offer of any compensation, no rain check, nothing! And on top of that, we paid for an upgraded room with “ocean view” on the 4th floor, the room looked nothing liked the picture that popped-up when we booked! All we got was a view of 2 rooftops, the main road and the restaurant across the road. Mansion House is false advertising and robbery! The room was not cheap! And even in an act of God/ nature, it’s business as usual, nobody had a heart of compassion,…no customer service whatsoever. We will not be recommending them to anyone.

Mansion House was the perfect combination of amenities, location, and unexpected surprises. We used the hot tub and the pool every day and appreciated the meticulous cleanliness of the facilities and dedication of staff to making it a good experience for us. As first-timers to Martha's Vineyard, Mansion house was the perfect location and my physical limitations were fully addressed with the room and use of the elevator and ramp out front. We appreciated that parking was included and convenient. Michelle at the front desk helped us from our booking through the entire stay. She gave us great ideas for places to go and to eat. The housekeeping staff were incredible and we appreciated their care every day. A+ of staff kindness and attentiveness. Highly recommend.

PROS: Lovely room, beautiful rooftop, nice breakfast room, mostly welcoming staff CONS: My room was not serviced and I did request a small credit, which was not honored, also requested a wakeup call that never came,
