We wanted to support a local inn rather than a chain hotel, but we felt like we were staying at an Airbnb during covid. All communication was over text. We never saw anyone at check in or at check out and only briefly spoke to woman who had delivered the breakfast basket when then the fire alarm went off. Our concert was cancelled plus it rained all day, so it felt like a ghost town. We could walk to the nearby bars and restaurants which was convenient. The inn left a welcome bag with your key, water bottles and mints, and you can order a simple breakfast from a form (see photo) and they'll deliver it in the morning. The form was confusing so we texted the inn keeper and asked if we could order a protein and a bread. We got the slice of quiche, croissant, hard-boiled egg and bagel and both agreed that we should have just gone out for a heartier breakfast in town. We were also surprised they was an add'l charge for k-cups, so we didn't use them. We stayed in room #201 which was roomy with a comfortable sofa, and we enjoyed reading messages folks wrote on the chalkboard. The comfy bed is a bit high, but they have a cute stepstool to use and if you prefer a firmer pillow, you may want to bring your own. There was a musty odor in the bathroom, and the shower head is low so if you're tall just be careful as you may hit it. Shower pressure could be better. We did enjoy the gas fireplace while watching TV I had so much fun taking photos of this adorable place that was once a school and loved seeing the photos of the "school" inn staff hung up in the hall, but never met any of them, unfortunately. Call me old school, but I like meeting the inn keepers and chatting about the town etc. I also gave my feedback to the inn keeper and wished we had a better experience but underwhelmed overall for spending $390 .

Cool old building super close to downtown Lee - walkable to unique antique shops and a variety restaurants. Minutes to Tanglewood, other towns, and parks. The daily breakfast delivery was a great way to start the day. Can’t wait to go back and explore more!

The Chambery Inn in Lee, MA has become our home away from home. The rooms are spacious and comfortably decorated — we love the schoolhouse suites with their gas fireplaces, which add such a cozy touch after a day on the road. The bathrooms are equally impressive: large, clean, and modern, with whirlpool tubs and great showers. Climate control in the rooms means we're always comfortable no matter the season. Bob and Olia, the innkeepers, are wonderful hosts — friendly, warm, and always accommodating. It's clear they genuinely care about making every stay special. The town of Lee itself is a great bonus, with plenty of interesting restaurants and a walkable downtown that's perfect for stretching your legs after traveling. We return several times a year and have never once been disappointed. If you're looking for a place that feels like more than just a hotel, this is it.
