Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Lexington North West-The Vineyard

We stayed in a third-floor room with two queen beds while attending the NC Transportation Museum’s America 250 Locomotive Celebration. The room was simply appointed but clean, comfortable, and quiet—exactly what we needed after spending the day at the event. Breakfast was included and consisted of the typical hotel fare: manufactured eggs and sausage, packaged breads, and a waffle maker, which appeared to be malfunctioning during our stay. The coffee machines brewed individual cups from what appeared to be freshly ground beans. Personally, I no longer place much value on complimentary hotel breakfasts because I generally find them too processed; cleanliness, comfort, and overall value matter much more to me. This was not the cheapest hotel in the area, but its price was competitive, particularly compared with accommodations closer to the event in Spencer or Salisbury. The hotel also appears genuinely pet-friendly. Each floor had a clean bowl of water for dogs, and there was a display seeking donations for a dog-related charity. A pet fee applies, although I did not see any dogs during our stay. There is also a fitness center, though I did not use it. We were primarily there for the locomotive event and came back to the hotel only to sleep. For that purpose, the hotel was entirely satisfactory: clean, quiet, comfortable, and reasonably priced.

Beautiful hotel with spacious, clean rooms. We were pleasantly surprised especially for the price. This rivals the normal Hilton and Marriott hotels where I typically stay.

Parking dirty with dog poop, smoking is too close to the front door. Bad design for the shower. Grab bar is in the wrong place. Only one speed for the water . Lots of room, carpet very dirty . Breakfast was great, bacon, biscuits and gravy, warm cinnamon rolls, yum.
