Rooms are tired looking. Ours smelled a little musty when we first arrived. There is a fine line between “shabby chic” and “you need to upgrade the room” vibe. The porches is in the “need to upgrade the room” category. Rug was very worn. There was constant traffic noise right outside our room that didn’t end until after 11:00 pm. Combined with the footstep noise from the upstairs room, it was difficult to get to sleep. Location is convenient if you are visiting MassMoca but you are paying a premium for this convenience. Room price is too high for the quality provided. Continental breakfast is provided, but skip the “eggs”. They had absolutely no flavor! Overall, an average hotel that is too pricey.

This was our third visit to The Porches over the past several years. Each time we found the staff friendly and welcoming, the rooms comfortable, clean, and attractive. The Porches are historic but with modern heating, cooling, and amenties. Included breakfast is fresh and varied, general atmosphere is relaxed. A great destination.

Very charming and unusual accommodations. It felt more like a B&B. We stayed 3 nights and loved it while visiting Williamstown and Mass Moca.
