Hampton Inn Boston / Woburn

Stay away from any room on the highway side of the building if you are anything but a sound and unshakable deep sleeper. The constant noice from the highway and train line will disturb you from achieving a restful stay.

This hotel had some pros and cons but overall it was a great option at a good price for a trip to Salem. Pros Location was only a half hour to Salem and the town of Woburn itself has great restaurant and take out options. Breakfast was probably one of the best we've had at a Fairfield with multiple hot options. The breakfast room is very small for a 5 story hotel but we never had a problem getting a table for the 3 mornings we ate there. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We were offered waters and chips at check in due to Bonvoy. The room and hotel overall was kept very clean. For an older hotel I was surprised how well cared for it was. I'm very picky on room cleanliness and I had no issues here at all. Cons The towels - they are thin and scratchy and while they were always clean they were terrible. Bed linens did not fit the beds properly - one of our beds had the fitted sheet popping off constantly. They could do for an upgrade to the overall bedding. Elevator - prepare to use the worlds oldest smallest elevator for a 5 story hotel. I was shocked no one ended up stuck during the 4 days we were there and you have to have patience while waiting because again there is just one for the entire hotel. Super small bathroom sink which is outside the bathroom in the room and on the carpet. Not enough space to put out our toiletries. Could also benefit from a fan inside the toilet/shower room to help with steam. Overall this is a great location for a hotel that desperately needs a renovation job and an extra elevator bank to accommodate it's size. Hopefully it will get some love in the future but we would stay there again (and maybe bring our own towels).

This hotel is about 30 minutes from Salem. The beds are comfortable, staff is friendly and close to many restaurants and stores. Didn’t like there was only one elevator and we were on the 5th floor.
