Econo Lodge West Yarmouth

Vast improvement on previous version! I saw the new photos before I booked and it lived up to them. Newly renovated, new mattress/headboard, chairs/mini-table and new laminate floors, new bathroom mirror with built in lights. AC was great, largest small fridge-but freezer doesn't keep things frozen, etc. That's what changes a motel from "ick" to "modern expectation". Great for the price (prob one of the cheapest options). Warning, though, CHECK THAT YOUR DOOR LOCKS when you leave: the electronic door didn't engage. Anyone could open the door easily by turning the handle. I didn't have time to call the office but I did take my valuables with me that day). I told them the next day when I checked out and they fixed it easily ( but laughed it off, they didn't even get off the phone when they walked over with me). They said it happens randomly, but I've NEVER had it happen at any other place I've stayed.

Everything you can want for the price and expect for the price. Dog friendly and the staff and manager are great. Would recommend and go again.

We checked in tonight (a Friday) and the place looked blah upon entering. Not terrible but definitely not the best. We had two dogs with us which is why we chose this place as a last minute get away. The price was high but still cheaper than all the other places on the cape. We quickly dropped our stuff off and went to grab some food. When we came back I used the restroom and saw a brown spot on the floor. I looked closer and grabbed a wet paper towel and wiped it realizing after it was dried blood. Upon further investigation I noticed a couple other drops in the shower and behind the toilet. Great now I am disgusted and am freaking out thinking about possible blood Born pathogens still lingering that I could’ve picked up. Yes, some pathogens can live up to weeks on dried blood. So clearly this room was only neatened up. I don’t want to know what else was left over. We were literally only there for 3 hours before I went to the front desk and we checked out due to the biohazard factor. We did not get a refund and the man at the desk said he would speak to the manager about our refund. I guess we’ll see what happens. It’ll be taken to the BBB if they do not resolved the issue. I never go places like this but such a last minute trip we thought it’s quick and can’t be that bad. Lesson learned!!!! Save yourself the time and disgust- go somewhere else.
