Baymont Inn & Suites Chelsea

I've been staying here in the fall for about the last 6 years now. The rooms were showing wear and now they are putting some work into them. Pool area always seems clean and staff is always nice. I have always felt safe here and also the parking seems safe. This location can become overpriced on weekends. . Breakfast is just basic dry cereal, packaged cake and bread/bagels. All in all It is a decent place to stay where its not a high end hotel, but clean and a decent night sleep.

The building is old and needs renovations, new blinds, paint and carpet, but the beds were very comfortable. This is a small, no frills hotel, so it was easy to get around. The pool was clean and a comfortable temperature, but we were the only people using it.

The bad: This hotel is old and very worn down. Our room (107) smelled damp and there's signs of water damage in the ceiling. We're right next to the pool so not sure if pool moisture has seeped through the walls or there was water leaking from above at some point. The curtains are torn, I district there used to be a mirror outside the bathroom but now there's just hooks on the wall. The continental breakfast is very basic, not a hot breakfast and limited food for child/heat yourself. We were with a group of 15 the second day and opted to go out to breakfast because it didn't look like there'd be enough food for everyone. Our room was serviced between the two nights (there were fresh towels) but they did not even make the beds. I know some places don't change linens every day in order to save water but I've never not had the bed made. The good: the room was not dirty. I visited one of the other rooms for someone in our party and it was in much better condition, though she complained her bed was not comfortable. I read some reviews of the walls being thin but we could not hear kids screaming in the pool until we opened our doors. Beds are comfortable and the AC worked well. The front desk staff was friendly.
