Courtyard Toledo Maumee/Arrowhead

My first room smelled horrible - like cigarette smoke - so I asked to switch. They said there was literally one other room left so I switched to that one and of course, horrible cigarette smell. I’m not sure if this used to be a hotel where you could smoke in the rooms and now it just lives in the walls, carpet, bedding, etc. but the rooms smell horrible and I’m upset I had to stay here.

Room 306 smelled like a dive bar (probably spilled beer), room 305 had heavy smell of cigarette smoke. No acknowledgement of Mariott status (don't need it), no water in the room (do need that). Gym had missing dumbells (25, then 1 30 lbs, then 50 lbs). Not well taken care of, stay away. Some of the staff were pleasant, which didn't really help when trying to sleep in a smelly room.

I liked the hotel, the rooms are fairly new, but the lighting is not great. However , the hotel is being refurbished on the outside, you cannot use the front entrance . While this is only an inconvenience I would have liked to know beforehand. Since we were there on a weekend no work was being done, but I suspect it can be very noisy on weekdays. Good WiFi.Breakfast is not included, but there is a Starbucks coffee shop in the lobby, that is adequate but expensive as all Starbucks are.
