I stay in motel rooms about a hundred nights a year, almost entirely at my own expense, so I try to keep my cost down to around $50 and am not picky at all. In fact, I have seldom written a negative review of a motel, but I will in this case! My wife and I visit our son in Battle Creek every summer for a few days and usually stay at the Knights Inn for $40-50 per night. This year we decided to stay elsewhere because (1) Knights Inn is no longer part of Wyndham Hotels, from whom I collect rewards points, and (2) it wanted $65 a night, which it isn't worth. So I chose America's Best Value because it [allegedly] has a swimming pool and is close to our son's apartment. I will first list the things I liked about it (it's a short list): (1) the lighting in the bathroom was very good (2) the location was very convenient for restaurants, shopping, movies, and (as I've mentioned) our son's residence So much for the positives. Now for the negatives: (1) The swimming pool was under renovation, though it is still pictured on the website (2) The outside looks quite rundown (3) The inside of the room was *very* basic, including few surfaces to put things on (4) No nightstand on one side of the bed (5) The shallowest motel desk I've ever seen (6) Poor Wi-fi (7) Few TV channels and lousy reception (8) No breakfast (9) No maid service during our three-day stay! (10) Many undesirable residents, seemingly long-term, partying and making noise late at night This place would have been marginally acceptable at $40 a night (which is what the Rodeway Inn across the street charges), but at $59 it's a rip-off. I will never stay here again and will spend considerably more, if I must, to avoid it.

It was the most filthiest, smelliest room, I have ever been in. There were cigarette burn marks on the side of the bathtub, I'm not sure if they were burn marks or mold spots in the bathtub. The toilet seat had peeling, the bed side lamp shade had some kind of a brown matter on it whether it was dried blood or human feces! The microwave and refrigerator was moldy inside, the front of the sink vanity was missing its front. I would definitely not recommend this hotel to my worse enemy. I'm not sure how Americas Best Value Inn, lets people become part of their corporation but they may want to check this place out and remove their name from this establishment, we have stayed in other Americans Best Value Inns and have never been disappointed. This stay makes me want to not take another chance on their hotels.

Ok, I stayed here because of the price then in terms of price -value you get what you pay. The room and bed was clean the bathroom was also clean but in terrible condition then it was not nice to see. The good thing is that is very well located and people was nice, it was snowing very hard and the management shovel the snow constantly during the night, then if you want low cost and location this will be good for you. This hotel is for one night only and if you can avoid the shower then you will be ok. In walking distance there is a gas station a Denny's, a panera bread and very close there is a Walmart and a mall then it is not all bad.
