The Inn is very nice and a good location if you are in decent shape. We walked in to town for dinner but it's also a quick drive. The beds were too high for short people. I had to jump up each time. There was no chair in the room so it was tricky to put shoes on. The Air/Heat was easy to use which I have not found to be common so I appreciated it. The breakfast was extrememly diappointing - rubbery eggs, terrible potatoes... It's what I might expect from a cheaper chain hotel . The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Very comfortable room. Bed was great. Had a bath, I was able to soak. Breakfast was excellent. Real plates, napkins very classy. Friendly staff.

This was our sixth year visiting the Colonial Inn. We booked the prior year Nov 1st online using their website. Everything was fine until we got an email the day we checked out saying we were charged $2751.3 for 5 nights. Our bill should have been $1555.13(advertised rates). We went to the front desk and confirmed this should have been the charge - in fact they printed out a receipt confirming this. Since we prepaid on a credit card and they said we used a third party they offered no help at all. We thought we were booking direct at the time using their website but were redirected. We were overcharged $1196.17 and have no recourse because we prepaid. They also admitted the credit card used to book was not ours and stated this happens all the time. Colonial Inn offered no help and we will never stay here again. I also filed a complaint with the Michigan State Attorney General.
