Super 8 Marquette

Not a very clean hotel. Surface is mostly appears clean, but the deep clean is not there, nor is a clean smell. I have health issues where I have to be very careful of rooms I stay in, so I asked if I could view the room before we stayed and they would not let me. I have never been told that by a person before. At 2:30 am, the mold smell (only detectable by a person with mold issues) appeared and my health started getting affected, so we grabbed our things and were checked out by 3:30 am. The front desk person left a note for the manager to contact me; she never did. I called the next day, manager didn't work wkends. I called again 2 days later and left a message; manager never called back. I called 12 days later, and was told to leave a message or send an email to manager. I sent an email, very short and nice. I did nicely ask if they would consider at least a partial refund. Manager sent a VERY poor response. No professionalism, no customer service, no care for a client who paid to stay there, no niceness at all. Very short, very abrupt, and somewhat rude and dishonest. At 3:30 am the parking lot only had approx. 6 vehicles in it. They were empty, but the manager claims they were full. Halls were empty. Hallways and building was very quiet!!! I would definitely NOT recommend this hotel to anyone!!!

Staff friendly. Staff doing breakfast went above and beyond. Rooms clean. Housekeeping service great. Hotel and rooms clean.

I stay in hotels often and know the ins-and-outs of each brand. This Quality Inn far exceeded my expectations. The room was very clean, including the carpeting. (Not all hotels in Marquette can say that.) Thermostat was digital and allowed a "constant fan" option for those of us who like white noise while still maintaining the heat/AC temperature that you choose. Bedside plug-ins and USB-charging is available. The breakfast was far above normal Quality Inn standards (hot breakfast w/ scrambled eggs, sausage links, waffles, oatmeal with trimmings, and cold breakfast items like yogurt, pastries, boiled eggs, juice, coffee, tea, etc. The breakfast chef was so friendly! So were the check-in and check-out hosts. The room had a standard configuration. The bed was very comfortable, but the sheets felt like a blend. Without hesitation I would stay here again because of how clean the furnishings were compared to other Marquette hotels, and because of the breakfast service/quality. I don't like the tiny "choice hotel" pillows so I always bring my own.
