Hampton Inn Detroit/Auburn Hills - North

This hotel lobby was nice! Check-in was good! I was placed in 2 separate rooms because of uncleanliness. Both bathrooms were dirty and unkempt. Bathroom hardware dangling and not clean. Both rooms were stale and musty. The second room was a little better so I settled having driven for 14hrs!

This place has good ratings, but I had a subpar experience. The room itself was musty and smelled of cigarettes. The shower curtain rod was hanging upside down so the curtain pooled in the middle, it also smelled odd. The bed comforter smelled of BO and sex, which was gross. The breakfast options were abysmal; the only “fresh” fruit was a couple deep brown bananas. Additionally, they were putting tar on the parking lot and failed to inform me. I wasn’t in a rush and the guy was nice about it, but I feel like it was quite an odd experience. Overall, an odd area of town and would not stay again.

What a positive change! Six years I thought that I would never stay here again. But I'm glad that I gave it another chance a year ago, and I'm so glad that I did. The staff is wonderful, and the hotel is very comfortable. The only thing that could use some improvement is the breakfast.
