Super 8 Romulus Detroit Mi

We were staying before our cruise for 1 night. I didn’t check ALL reviews like I should have. Even tho I had paid I should have walked out but how bad can it be? The price was good for a park and ride and 1 night. The staff when I walked in to check in were holding cigarettes and very unfriendly like I interrupted their smoke break. Honestly I’m not sure if these were friends visiting or workers. Very impatient and rude. Our tv was not working so I went downstairs once again they are all sitting around and a gal said she’d be up (she definitely made me feel like I was imposing), Well she never came, then we lost power within an hour after arriving. I went downstairs again and asked if we moved to another location could we get a refund. She said probably not bc the power might come on in a couple hours. (Power was due to a terrible storm so not their fault) We never slept that night. Beds are old and I felt like I would catch something if I slept along with it being 90 degrees and no air. With the power outage came no hot water or breakfast which based on the staff and dirty building I would have rather starved. The keys couldn’t work bc of the power so we were locked in our room. Then the fun began. Some very shady people were yelling, smoking pot and I swear throwing up in the hallway until all hours of the early morning. When we were leaving finally there were no emergency lights so everything was pitch black. In the morning there were 2 guys asking for a room that were less than friendly and I felt unsafe waiting outside for the shuttle and leaving my car there for an extended time. We should have packed up and eaten the cost as there were other park and fly places that had power and space for us. I regret that decision. All I can say is find another room or sleep in your car. It would have been a nicer environment than this shady motel. Thankfully when we returned our car was safe. I couldn’t wait to get home!!

Location convenient. Arrived & the entry way smelled of Marijuana. Waited for ever for a cool van to warm up, which it didn't, to take us to airport. Arrived back & was picked up in a timely manner, but by a high pressure complaining woman who more than shut the door & was bad mouthing the previous people for not tipping. Very opinionated & rude herself. Got a sob story about her husband dying & she l8st everything g so she has to live at the inn now. Told us they found 40$ on the floor of the truck & her manager placed it in the cup holder, mentioned 40$ multiple times that was found & in cup holder but when we got in truck there was only $20. Husband tipper her, if it were up to me she wouldn't have gotten a penny. To top it off our flight from miami was canceled & we ended up at airport all night until 930 am. We had used the park & sleep option, but was supposed to check out by 11 am & wouldn't give any refund, tho we never used room. Giving a 1 star only for puck up quickly in a very dirty seat stained van.

My husband and I had reservations at American Inn & Suites that we made on Park, Sleep and Fly. I called in the morning to confirm our stay and the woman said we were all set. We got there and they couldn't find our reservation. I said I'd called that morning and she called the woman from the previous shift who denied I'd ever called. I showed the woman at the desk the number I'd called that morning and it was their number so the other woman lied. I asked to speak to a Mgr and she said the Mgr was on vacation and there was no one taking her place. I asked the name of the woman at the desk and she wouldn't give it to me. The place looked dirty and rundown. Do not stay here!
