BEST WESTERN HARBOUR POINTE LA

Horrible experience! When I booked I called direct & asked for a ground level room because of my knees & they gave us a second floor room. I saw people with kids get the first floor rooms but they can’t take care of seniors!!

Best hotel on a long summer trip. We needed a suite to have separate beds for pre-teen children of different genders. The suite was roomy, beds comfortable, separate sinks in bath. (Only flaw was the mini refrigerator... it's housed in a cabinet & the door doesn't clear the wooden lip of the cabinet. Had to physically lift the dang refrigerator every time we needed to open/close.) BUT. Shepler's Ferry is a 5 min stroll away, or they have a shuttle to the hotel = no parking expense when going to Macinac Island. The hotel has both indoor & outdoor pools, a beach area on Lake Huron, nightly s'mores by their firepit, lots of room for kids to run around, and a decent breakfast. Grounds & room were clean, area felt very safe. Nice lake views. Friendly staff. Friendly fellow travelers for that matter. We'd love to come back!

We stayed here for a few nights to explore Mackinac Island. We had a 2 bedroom suite with 3 queen beds and 2 bathrooms, which worked out great for our family. The room was clean and spacious but smelled a little musty and the AC was very loud. We loved the outdoor pool and hot tub. There is a large grassy area for kids to run around and a small playground. It would be nice to have chairs down by the beach area to relax and enjoy the view. The free S’mores at the fire were a nice treat. The staff were very friendly and seem to be cleaning all the time. It’s a short walk to the ferry but you can also take a shuttle. Overall it’s a nice resort but not sure it’s worth the price.
