Timberline Motel Saugatuck

This independently owned motel is average and it is disappointing to see all of the excellent review because it is a far cry from it. It is clean. It is conveniently located, but it is very tired. Towels are thin, shower drain was backed up, the paint and caulk were chopped and falling apart. The breakfast was entirely packaged and wrapped in plastic. It got the job done but I would not recommend it.

Myself and by girlfriend (both women) simply shared an innocuous kiss by the patio furniture and the owner, patrolling the grounds, demanded to know our room number and that we to take our “affection to our room.” It felt threatening. We were meant to stay 2 nights but had to leave early because of this frustrating and crappy uncomfortable situation.

This gem of a motel is super clean. The owner takes amazing pride in many details and it shows. Pool was great, Jacquizi works perfectly. Comfortable and very clean rooms. It’s about a 3 minute drive to downtown Saugatuck. Park your vehicle right in front of your room- can’t beat that. Starlight gets a 10 in my book
