Crowne Plaza Bloomington

We often stay here before we fly out on vacation. It’s usually clean, quiet and convenient. We park across the street in Park n Fly if it’s too early for the hotel shuttles to be running to the airport. It’s an easy location with free ramp parking too and we often use hotel points so our stay is free.

The best thing I have to say about this hotel is that it's conveniently located. We purchased a MOA package and this was the hotel we chose, and it was certainly convenient to get to the mall, as the nearby roads are sort of the back way in. However, the hotel itself was not my favorite. Yes, the parking situation is strange, as others have noted. We were prepared due to reading reviews but it certainly was a long walk each time we left and came back. Additionally, hauling our luggage in was challenging but we made it work. The room seemed outdated and I hadn't realized I'd booked two double beds. Not queen size, double. . .so our older son had to share a fairly small bed with his grandpa. Next time I'll read better before I book. The furniture was scuffed and there was a lack of electric outlets in the room, and we had a hard time controlling the temperature. One of our room keys didn't work half the time so we had to make sure we always had the working one handy. My husband and son tried out the pool and hot tub but said they were both a little too chlorinated and their skin was rashy afterwards. Additionally, there was no breakfast provided and the on-site restaurant seemed expensive for what it was offering. There didn't appear to be any options for kids besides ala carte items that were awfully overpriced. Again, I knew there wasn't breakfast due to reading reviews but I didn't realize how inconvenient it would be to get out for meals and how few family restaurants were nearby and open in the morning. My son loved watching the planes from the nearby airport and all of the staff we encountered were very friendly. However, next time we visit I think we'll choose a more family-friendly hotel with breakfast included.

Excellent rooms with a view, good size room with fridge, microwave and WiFi. Bed and pillows are good; could've been little softer. Excellent amenities like free shuttle to Mall of America and airport. Hotel of this size and reputation could have a better restaurant.
