The Doubletree Hotel Minneapolis

It’s ridiculous what Marriott calls an Autograph Hotel. This hotel is dated, cheap products in the bathroom, no water for the coffee machine, old frayed carpeting, dark walls, and moldy shower floor. Obviously not staying here again and do not recommend.

Checked in at 10:30pm, no valet or parking so the front desk asked me just to leave my car out front overnight. When i came down to retrieve my car, the car was right where i left it …at a charge of $55. No food available at night, no room service available until the restaurant opens at 11am. The only breakfast option is a small coffee bistro with food they heat up for you, while you are forced to listen to loud club music at 8am. The rooms desperately need an update. This is by no means a cheap stay. My gut is they are charging for location. The lobby is going for a modern jungle vibe which is not for everyone. Moved to another Marriott location after 1 night.

Excellent value. Staff was great, customized a map for me. The room is quiet (except when a neighbor closes the door -- the lock reverbs) and very comfortable though the pillows are kinda bouncy. The location is great. The breakfast is sparse but good. Croissant nowhere near as stale as most coffee shops. The regular restaurant, Giulia's, is an excellent value and I'll review that separately.
