Kahler Inn and Suites

My husband and I stayed here at the beginning of August for a week due to medical appointments at Mayo Clinic. This hotel couldn’t have been more convenient. It was directly across the street from the Charlton building and like a one minute walk over to Mayo building. The staff was super hard-working and kind. Robin and Sia at the front desk always pleasant and smiling. Robin had helped us with some special request/needs (genuinely kind). The complementary breakfast was way more than we had expected. The food was great, and the staff taking care of it was excellent. We had to return to Rochester decided to stay back at the Kahler Inn and suites. The rooms were clean and large and we will definitely be here again on our next trip back to Mayo. The parking was also very convenient. There was a lot of construction and still is going on right now, but only a minor inconvenience. I would highly recommend this hotel just off of the staff that we encountered. Oh, and the fact that it’s dog, friendly, huge bonus.

This is the 3rd time we've been here, and we've given it a lot of grace and turned a blind eye to things being overwhelmed with medical issues as we are, but there's a line and this was it. We saw some soiled areas on some hallways but not in our first room, in that one the tub didn't drain and you were over ankle deep after showering. One desk person actually smiles & she was gracious about that. The second time there was a worse soiled area in our hallway--ruined a pillow case when we dropped it outside the door. It carried slightly inside the room. That's probably still there. Couldn't cancel at that point. Yesterday (9/1/2026) was the end. We had to be there as we needed a last minute room, and would have left except losing the entire cost. The 3rd floor hallway floor needs to be condemned. The room was mildewy smelling, the a/c loud and never ending. The room carpet was visibly dirty. We just have to assume the beds were clean. The final straw was when the patient was unwell and chilly so we retrieved the extra blanket from the shelf in our suite. Horrible! Maroon blanket with white moldy looking stuff all over it, food particles on it and a cigarette burn on it. Folded up in the "extra bedding bag". When was this last check and refreshed?? Insult to injury was when we tried to very discreetly share this with the person at the check out desk. Her reaction was 'huh'. Literally. The convenience is not worth it. The breakfast is good. Cody (in the breakfast area) is the shining star of the entire place! The Mayo discount is not worth getting sick over.

Sai See was/is an amazing getting desk supervisor and she needs a raise for all the hard work she does.
