MainStay Suites Rochester South Mayo Clinic

Very quiet hotel excellent value. Very flexible for Mayo Clinic patients.

Smells like grease at all hours of the day and night because of people cooking in rooms and non-vented hoods. Under renovation right now. My fridge has mice turds on the top. Hair and pee stains around the toilet. House keeping is not a thing here I guess. See my photos for proof. Place is beat down.

I'm sharing my first experience at MainStay Suites. I had previously stayed there for several nights in August 2025. The price point was affordable for me as I had to stay for a couple of weeks, during my proton therapy at Mayo Clinic. Usually the risk of staying at a less expensive accommodation is residing in a less secure area. I never felt at risk for my personal property in the parking lot or in my room. The motel has video security as well as regular appearance of security personnel. The front desk was attentive at all times, and helpful for special requests like providing ice trays for the refrigerator. Although no meals are provided, there is a very convenient quality coffee service available. My room featured a complete kitchenette, with a full size refrigerator and I was able to conserve funds by doing my own cooking in my room. There is also a complete laundry facility, and the front desk provides change for the machines. Machines are Top Notch and well maintained. In addition for those who need it, there's a wide availability of rooms with disability accommodation. For those on a medical Mission like myself, one of the best features is the highly reliable Mayo Clinic shuttle service, available at no charge to Motel to guests. Furthermore, the motel manager, Jay is Pleasant and especially empathetic about the needs, and unpredictable schedules of Mayo patients. If I have to return for additional therapy I have confidence that Jay and his staff, will strive to work with me on giving me maximum flexibility for booking, and a reasonable treatment if I have to extend or cancel part of my stay.
