Best Western Inn Of Thief River Falls

Check in experience was not to my liking. We had a reservation and from there things went down hill...all because I could barely hear the person behind the front desk. She pointed here and there explaining things....what I do not know. I had to ask where the stairs were (there is no elevator). I had asked for non-poolside when I made the reservation, and while we were a floor above the pool, it was right below us (including the noise from the pool). The saving grace was that the room was totally redone. While the breakfast was normal motel fare, the room was large and accommodating.

This is an older hotel and does show a little wear and tear in places. However the public areas were clean and our room was very clean. Staff was friendly. The breakfast area is large. Staff was friendly. The complimentary breakfast was average. The food was refreshed regularly.

This is a game changer with 2 channels...HBO and ESPN . Had to turn the volume up all the way to barely hear it. Spoke with what we guess it's the owner...could hardly understand his accent. Told to wait until service comes back on. Still nothing in the morning. Upon check out, was told we were the only ones complaining. Never attempted to try another tv, cable check or even come look. Booked the hotel at $89. Given a ten cent discount. Yes, ten cents. Not offered any discount for the inconvenience. Given, "have a nice day" after morning complaint.
