Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites-St. Paul

This hotel is very clean, modern, has a great breakfast, easy check in/out, overall a great family hotel,easy on/off HWY 35E, and comfortable beds! We will stay again as we travel often from Duluth to the Twin Cities for events.

Along with another couple we visited the cities to bike. We chose this hotel due to its proximity and access to multiple bike trails. The hotel was modern and clean with a great breakfast. We stayed on the first floor near the elevator and did not experience any problems with noice. The pool and hot tub area have a few rough spots but both are functional and clean. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

I stayed here for two weeks while working in the area. The hotel is conveniently located to the highway and easy to get into and out of. First of all, the rooms seem to be recently updated, in great shape, and very clean and comfortable. Also, the breakfast area seems newer, and the food is very good, with a decent assortment of items. My only gripe is that the common areas aren't up to the same quality as the rooms. The elevator is very noisy, (they do have a sign saying that the elevator company is working on it, but that it is safe to use), the hallways are aged, walls are patched in places and not painted, one hallway had a bag of garbage sitting there for the better part of the week, and the entryway is not very warm and inviting. Walking into the guest room, it feels like two very different hotels. On the plus side, everyone I dealt with there was very friendly and very helpful. There is also a great bar/restaurant that can be accessed through a hallway from the lobby, so that's a plus. I would stay here again for the guest rooms and breakfast alone. I hope they have a plan to update the common areas, so the entire experience is a good as the guest rooms are.
