Natchez Grand Hotel

Great location in Natchez with river views. This hotel is directly across from the bluff trails and perfect for walking in the morning and evening. It seemed many locals use this trail as well. However, I do wish the staff was more friendly. Check in wasn’t very welcoming or helpful.

Do not be fooled by the grand looking exterior of this hotel. On the inside it is very outdated & in need of some tlc. The most unfriendliest hotel staff we have ever come across! The receptionist made no effort to welcome us on check-in, no general conversation or pleasantries, & was the same when we checked out!!! When I asked if there was a water cooler available to fill a water bottle, she simply pointed to where it was. No smiles or a simple hello from any other member of staff we encountered whilst going about the hotel. Breakfast was awful & at best tepid! All buffet style & served by staff from behind Perspex screens as if still in Covid times. I would definitely not recommend a stay at this hotel.

This is the kind of Hotel that just breaks my heart...a Grand Dame at one point in history and now, just not well cared for or honored in any way. The furnisings are not well worn...they are in complete tatters. The TV in the living area did not work...I called the front desk to ask if there was a secret to getting it turned on and was told that maintenance would come and help us...my husband finally bypassed the remote...I called and told them to tell maintenance not to bother...after 2 hours. The views from our windows of the Mississippi River are lovely, so we are enjoying those. There was no assistance with our luggage...the lugguge cart had one flat wheel that had completely lost its tred...making it almost impossible for me in my 70's and my husand in his 80's and his cane to manage to our room. The TV in the bedboom was not any where close to 40 inches, the Keurig coffee station is by Hamilton Beach, and is missing the promised bottled water. The "specialty toiletries" look thick and like they have been in the pump containrs for months and low and behold, the promised Ultra Plush bathrobes are no where to be found. We were expecting an experience...and this night has certainly qualified. Rick and Laurie Heimes
