The Elms Bed and Breakfast

We spent 3 nights. Rooms were large, clean, and comfortable. Des and Paulette were gracious hosts and were very helpful. Wine is included and available in the parlor from 4-6pm daily. They do not serve Breakfast but provide a coupon for a full free excellent breakfast at a hotel a couple of blocks away. The location is right on the edge of town and downtown Natchez is an easy walk.

So we can’t say enough about this fabulous antebellum mansion meticulously appointed in the Natchez Historic District. It’s everything that is advertised and the hosts could not have been more welcoming and helpful. We were stunned at at the beauty of the flatware and dining room. Our room was beautiful and there were no complaints about temperature on this unseasonably cool evening in late October. We walked around the Historic District and strolled along the Mississippi River which was gorgeous at sunset on the night we were there. Upon arrival our hosts took our breakfast order and introduced us to their cats. The other guests were couples similar to us although we had arrived late in the afternoon and did not participate in the cocktail hour with the other guests. The only complaint we had was that we had difficulty getting in and out of the doors due to the age of the handles, etc. we really loved this place and would return here again.

We were greeted at the door by Mrs. Paulette and Pyewacket. I was told Sherlock Holmes was in the house, but I didn't get to meet him until the next morning. Mrs. Paulette is as charming as her home and makes you fell right at home; like your new best friend. We were given the key to the house and showed to our room. The home is spotless and very well kept. Very relaxed atmosphere. If your looking for a quite, fun place to stay in Natchez, with an amazing breakfast...this is your spot. When you go be sure and tell Pyewicket and Sherlock Holmes I said hello.
