Motel 6 Kansas City North Airport

This place can be summed up in just a few words filthy, dilapidated, and a complete waste of hard earned money. When we travel with pets we usually chose motel 6, but this ONE smears a good name. They called me TWICE earlier in the day while I was at work to confirm we still wanted the room we had paid for days in advance. Perhaps that should have been a red flag for me. I cleaned hotel rooms for several years under a white glove so when we check in somewhere I know my first step is to pull sheets back, and catch surfaces from an angle with plenty of light....... And my word, all it took was opening the door. These ppl had shoved another bed in a single bed room to make it a dbl. The bed closest to the door was RIGHT UP AGAINST the AC unit. Cigarette burns in bedding and all over the shower. The shower floor was so filthy that not one of the four of us would dare step in it. The shower curtain was sticky and moldy. Sticky dirty spots of God knows what all over the floating floors. Under the beds hadn't been touched I bet since they pulled the carpet. The bathroom sink could literally be pulled completely out of the counter top. I mean this was like health dept bad. I had to clean the room before my two boys would even come in and take off their shoes, and that's no exaggeration. Legit disinfect surfaces and mop the floors. The super 8 and la quinta were booked or we would have just cut our losses and got another room because they would not refund our money. Go figure! Feel like I should have been paid to stay here. Then to top it off, there were countless numbers of unsavory characters LIVING there, and a 40$ cash deposit. For what????!!!!!! I'm just so disgusted, there are not enough words. I've only had a similar experience one other time and I'd love to write in my review what they had in common but then I'd end up on the news or something. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!. It is a public health/safety concern. If I was a part of "trip advisor" staff, I'd ban this place from advertising. I work way to hard for my money to be ripped off, and that's what happened here. I was ripped off, refused a refund, cleaned the filthy room that I HAD PAID FOR TO BE CLEAN ALREADY, and still had to suck it up and lay our heads here. Feel like setting all the stuff we took with us on fire for fear of bringing anything home. Again, so disgusted.

What a swanky joint. I couldn't believe my eyes. Nice and clean, no stains on the sheets, no cockroaches either. Smelled ok, but I was only there for an hour. It served its purpose which made my night out even cheaper! Thanks Motel 6!

The motel has free parking. My check in went quickly but I did have to leave a $40 cash deposit above the cost of the room. The rooms have outside entries and come with free wi-fi. My room was poorly laid out. I did manage to get a good night's sleep and received my requested wake up call. My check out was slowed because the room had to be inspected before I received my deposit refund (not what I needed on the way to the airport).
