GuestHouse Inn & Suites St. Joseph

Bathroom light turned on once. Pillows might as well sleep on cement blocks. Looks like chair n ottoman came from dumpster. Breakfast joke couldn't take back to room. No milk out reception went in back got gallon they had to pour it themselves. I don't recommend this place.

My Husband and I picked this hotel, because it was right off the I-29 in St. Joseph, MO, and close to our daughter's house. It said it had FREE Breakfast from 6:30-9:30 a.m. We got a room it was dirty in the bathroom when we entered it. Poop stuck on the porcelain, when my Husband lifted up the toilet lid, there was pubic hair on the toilet and on the floor, so we went to the office, and asked for another room. The 2nd room, it had a fabric chair that was so worn out, we didn't even sit on it. The King size bed would make noises, because it had a sheet metal base under the mattress. Very annoying. The mini fridge wasn't cleaned out still had other peoples beverages in it. The Vanity mirror had streaks all on it, the housekeeper wasn't tall enough to reach everywhere. The bath towels, and sheets had stains on it, we killed spiders everyday in the room. We put out the Maid Service each day, they did come in and empty the trash cans and brought in "clean linens". BUT they never vacuumed the carpet which was worn. I would much rather have tile floors, so it would be more sanitary. I should have taken pictures, I was so disappointed. Not worth $462.76 for 4 days

This place should not even be open. Period. That being said- homeless people have to hang out somewhere...I have no idea who is footing the bill but this is not a place ANYone with a choice would ever choose. Broken, filthy unsafe conditions. Noisy and dangerous. Taking advantage of people who just do not know any better (or, are not paying the bills..). This is a blight on the city's reputation. For the same amount of money I spent to spend 2 nights with a dog at this dump, I could have stayed at a NICE place a couple of miles up the road. these people are obviously taking advantage of a situation no one wants to address. Slum conditions. Avoid Avoid avoid. I was in town for an event and this was listed as one of the recommended lodgings...WOW. I am letting them know what I think as well.
