HOLIDAY INN ST. LOUIS-AIRPORT (OAKLAND PK)

July 31st 2026, we checked in mid afternoon, we went shopping and returning about 7:30 pm as we were settling into our room I sent my 11yr old granddaughter down to the ice machine around 8:30pm, she came back and I asked her to get another cup of ice, this time she came running back to our room because some man approached saying “ hey pretty, what are your plans for the night” She was scared , she told me she thought this man was trying to lure her into a room.I immediately open the door to see if I could see this man. Needless to say he was gone. I then immediately called the front desk to report what had happened, the front desk clerk was a male I did not catch his name dismissed everything I was saying stating there was no manager there, and that I had to report it in the morning and then hung up on me. We went down to the front desk to speak to someone about what just happened and they were extremely busy so we never got a chance to speak to anyone. As I checked out Saturday morning, I’ve been again spoke to the front desk, clerk, who checked me in the afternoon before and had explained the situation to her, she assured me that as soon as the manager got in that he would be giving me a call before 4 PM. We left the hotel did our sightseeing drove home to where we live roughly about 5 o’clock or so. I decided to call Hilton Customer Service because I had not heard back from anyone.. The Customer Service agent, I spoke to stated that the manager was aware of what I said happened and that he would be giving me a call back. Now we are all the way into Tuesday. I have never heard back from that manager, so I call Customer Service again, she told me the manager made a note stating that it was the guest that approached my granddaughter, not an employee. Because this manager has never contacted me. I feel that this team of employees at this Doubletree by Hilton truly does not care about their guests safety nor do they care about the safety of the children that are staying in this hotel. My granddaughter was so terrified that this man was gonna be in the hall or come to our room. We slept with a chair pushed up to the doors so nobody could get in, when we checked out Saturday morning, my granddaughter would not even take our bags to the car while I was speaking to the front desk, clerk for fear the guy was gonna be out in the parking lot. There is a lot of what if’s that could’ve happened with this situation… and to have the employees and right up to the manager, just dismiss the entire situation is appalling to me! This situation really leaves a bad taste to our family, my grandchildren would like me to find a different brand of hotels when we travel. I feel that this situation will have an effect on my granddaughter each time we stay away from home, which is very sad because we travel quite a bit. I can say that I will never stay at another Doubletree by Hilton.

Very nasty people. I’m 70 years old and faced a look of shock and dismay when I asked for help with my my large luggage. Just to get it in the cart. The hotel halls show level of dirt not expected for a big chain

There are multiple sites that say there is a pool at this location... there is NOT! We came here juat so we could swim in our down time. Very much disappointed and would NOT recommend this hotel at all!!
