Lamplighter Inn North

This was absolutely the FILTHIEST ROOM and hotel I have ever stayed at. When checking in found out it is condemned and being torn down Sept. 1 2025. Do not go there.

The photos and the "amenities " on the website are false advertisement. They do not have a pub or a restaurant on site. They do not use the gold serving dishes for the breakfast, it was served out of crock pots. The people who live there hang out 24 hours a day in the lobby and make you feel absolutely uncomfortable. The man in the electric wheelchair ran over a child at 10pm and it was chaos in the hallway. A person who lives there dog pooped three times in front of me and my door as she was attempting to pull him out of the building. We got a nonsmoking room and my daughter immediately was thrown into an asthma attack into walking into the first room due to the smell of smoke. We were offered a different room. We went and bought towels at the local Walmart due to every towel having dried blood on it. Our room had an exposed outlet. Construction areas open and accessible in public areas. We got yelled at for making a wrong turn to find the ice machine. The pool and the jacuzzi were green. Nobody, not a single guest was in them. Breakfast was disgusting. The milk was 55 degrees.

While this seems to be a high rating for a 2/3 star hotel, from our stay, it warrants 5 stars because of the price to value ratio. We are on a limited budget, and paid $64. The room was excellent all around. Extremely clean, updated decor, comfortable bedding, bed, and pillows. It had a nice, clean mini-fridge and microwave. The air conditioning functioned very well and kept the room at a constant temperature without being noisy. The bathroom was also very clean. The sink was new and bathtub was very clean. It had better than basic towels, and toiletries. It was quiet. It states that there are smoking and non-smoking rooms, yet as a non-smoker who is very sensitive to smoking odor—I smelled none in the hotel. The breakfast was basic, but adequate, especially for the price paid for the room. We was given a late checkout with no extra charge. It is under renovation, but the signs were not annoying or intrusive. I would definitely stay again and recommend the hotel.
