Dude/Roundup Motel

We stayed in the Dude side and the room was comfortable, clean and roomy. Fair better than we anticipated. The only problem was there wasn’t a Dropbox for the key and the office that was supposed to open at 7am didn’t and we had to wait until 7:35am until someone arrived walking in with her breakfast burrito like time didn’t matter and no apology when I said we were waiting. We got up early to get a head start on the park traffic , so bear that in mind if you stay here. We are staying again tomorrow so will see if it’s better next time.

Disgusting! This was by far the worst hotel experience we have ever had, and it completely ruined part of our Yellowstone trip. We booked this motel nearly one month in advance through the hotel’s official website and received a confirmation number as well as confirmation messages from the property. Everything appeared to be confirmed without any issues. However, when we arrived around 11 PM, the front desk employee informed us that there were no rooms available and refused to check us in. When we showed our confirmation number and messages from the motel, we were simply told, “It doesn’t matter.” The employee then stated that the office was closing because her shift was over. We remained polite and tried calmly to communicate and understand the situation, but we received no assistance at all and were essentially turned away late at night. What made this situation especially terrible was the location. At 11 PM near Yellowstone National Park, there were virtually no rooms available anywhere nearby. We were left stranded with the possibility of sleeping in our car or driving long distances through remote mountain roads late at night. In the end, we were forced to spend nearly $1,000 on another hotel located more than an hour away. Afterward, we attempted to contact the motel multiple times by email regarding this incident, but we received absolutely no response. Overselling rooms and refusing to honor confirmed reservations is already unacceptable, but leaving guests stranded late at night without any assistance or accountability is even worse. We strongly recommend that future travelers stay elsewhere and choose a property with reliable customer service and basic professionalism.

We enjoyed our 4-nite stay here, staff friendly. Roomy, 2-Queen rm in the older of two complex. We felt safe here, lighted park lot. Good dining, grocery/supplies right across/just down the street, more choices very walkable dist. Comfortable beds, linens changed/restocked daily. Heat/AC,MW, fridge all good. Tub/shower and drains all good. Quiet, clean. DirectTV connection minor prob promptly resolved. There was a 1" gap @ Rm205 exterior door bottom; easily repairable. We just rolled up the shower floor mat for the nite to seal it. No biggie.
