RV park…that is apparently behind the hotel…wouldn’t know how to review the spots that were plenty available as when we went to check in for one night were turned away because of the “age” of our pristine condition but older motorhome. Nothing short of disgusting, disgraceful and discriminating a family of 4 because the age of a rv unit. Without even checking. It’s not like we were pulling in Uncle Eddies rv from national lampoons. We were travelling all the way from northern Alberta, Canada on the way to Lake Tahoe and only wanted a safe spot to park for one night with power and some water to freshen up. Only to end up in the parking lot of a Walmart. I guess discrimination is still a thing in America because we were told an RV older then 10 years is unacceptable at this park. It’s not like your Hotel RV park is even luxurious, it’s literally behind a crappy casino. I wouldn’t support this establishment. Just because of how they treat their potential guests because of their RV age. Total disrespect. Total dissatisfaction. Total disregard to the 2 seniors we were travelling with too. Disgusting!!!

VERY STRONG smoke smell in “nonsmoking” rooms & throughout the hotel. When we booked our room, we were told it was nonsmoking. We were actually informed the entire hotel is nonsmoking - even though there was clearly ash on the floor in the corners of the elevator. We knew booking with a casino attached, there’d be some smoke smell. But, it was throughout the hotel and the room itself. It was SO strong we both had headaches after just 20min inside. When we asked the front desk for a refund as rebooked somewhere else, we were told they couldn’t rebook the room for the night because we’d already used it. We touched nothing, just dropped out bags then left for dinner. After asking them repeatedly to at least meet us in the middle, they acted to refund after inspecting the room. The front desk was less then understanding or accommodating so were shocked they agreed to refund. The other concerning thing was we saw 3 “security guards” walking the hotel halls in the short time we were there. We’re glad we didn’t stay long enough to find out why they needed so much security presence in the hotel.

We have stayed at the Gold Dust Hotel and Casino on multiple occasions and every stay has been excellent. Check in is easy and quick. The rooms are huge with comfortable beds, large flat screen televisions, huge bathroom with double sinks, coffee maker and microwave. The rooms have all been in great condition with no wear showing. We are not really gamblers, but do have fun playing the video poker machines at the bar and taking advantage of the free cocktails. The restaurant is excellent and the $19 Prime Rib dinner is out of this world. I am a big guy and cannot even eat half of what they give you. You also get a free breakfast in the morning which is great. The staff is all friendly and it has convenient parking (no charge). There is also a ATM with no user fee. We will continue to stay here when we are in town and would highly recommend the place.
