Mandalay Bay Resort

I was disappointed with several aspects of our stay at Mandalay Bay. While our hotel room was comfortable and well maintained, one of the main reasons we chose this property was to enjoy the large pool complex and beach-like atmosphere. Unfortunately, our experience did not meet our expectations. The biggest disappointment was the lack of complimentary shade. Umbrellas were only available to rent for approximately $350 per day, leaving very few shaded areas where guests could relax without prolonged sun exposure. The lounge chairs were placed extremely close together, offering little personal space or privacy. In addition, the pool was extremely crowded, making it difficult to enjoy. We also noticed a significant amount of paper and plastic debris floating on the surface of the water, which detracted from the overall experience and raised concerns about cleanliness. Another drawback was the hotel's location. Mandalay Bay is at the far end of the Strip, and we ended up spending a considerable amount of money on transportation to and from restaurants, shows, and other attractions during our stay. Overall, while the room itself was very nice, the amenities and location did not provide the experience we expected based on the price we paid. I hope you will take this feedback into consideration to improve future guests' experiences.

We arrived around 10am to check in. From the look of the line and the pace it was moving it was going to take 1.5-2 hours to be seen… we decided to abort and do mobile check in. I received the text saying they will give me my room number shortly later.. We returned at 6:30pm and I still haven’t received my room number … I lined up to talk to a guest service rep and it took us approximately 30-45min to be seen still despite the line being a lot shorter . People were being disgruntled and a guest complained asking for more people to help since they only had 2 people checking people in… when it was finally my turn the agent said I didn’t put my phone number that is why I didn’t get the message although I showed her I got the confirmation text…due to all the delays we ran late and had to rush getting dressed… The room was fantastic. We really loved our room specially since we had a wonderful view of the pool side. Unfortunately, for some reason, our bathroom light decided to go out on us. I attempted to call guest services via the phone since I didn’t wanna wait in line any longer. The dial kept on ringing and ultimately despite calling numerous times, they never got in touch with anybody. At this point, we just decided it is what it is. We also got a bunch of misinformation regarding parking, which by the way is $20 per night and only later on did we find out that we were able to park at all the different MGM affiliated hotels this was not informed to us which would’ve been beneficial, especially for us trying catch our show that we ended up being late for (we probably could’ve made it in time if we knew we could’ve parked at the Bellagio for free instead of waiting on ride chair) Our pool experience was phenomenal. I just wish that they provided some sort of free tube rental for the hotel guests.. it cost $25 for the small tube… When I thought all of this was over. We decided to do checkout via the mobile counters, but unfortunately, despite utilizing two counters it kept on stating that they couldn’t find my reservation. Then we switched to using our mobile phones by scanning a QR code for some reason, even though I was putting the same information on my phone it didn’t ultimately work until my significant other inputted information on his phone on his third attempt. Up until now, I have not received the final receipt of my hotel stay and just received a bill. I’m not sure how to even reach Mandalay base to receive my receipt since I had multiple failed attempts, reaching out to them in the past Hotel wise Mandalay Bay room was amazing, the pool was refreshing. Just the overall guest service was a horrendous experience that caused us to be delayed to multiple events. I would just expect free parking and better service given the fact that we paid so much to stay at this hotel… I would like to stay here again given how nice the pool was but with how horrible the guest service was (people were nice but the wait was aggravatingly long and nonexistent) plus Vegas charging now for parking everywhere including this hotel… I might just opt to stay closer to the strip next time Mandalay does offer free transport via their monorail system but it’s still 30-40min to the main strip …
