Plaza On The River

No hot tub that we were told you had otherwise good stay

Quite the eclectic trip back in time. The hotel is immaculately taken care of. Bonus of free secure parking, huge rooms, elevator direct from garage to room and a great bar. We didn't know what to expect and after staying at 100's of different chain hotels, this was a great stay.

The location is steps away from the Reno Riverwalk & Wingfield Park, and there are a variety of restaurants, bars, and activities within easy walking distance. The hotel itself is charming with a blend of historic accents and decor and contemporary furnishings. The front desk staff and cleaning staff were very friendly and engaging. Our room was clean and quiet. There is secure off street parking. The only negative was the arrogance of the lead mixologist/bartender in Thirsty's Lounge on the 7th floor. He pushed their specialty cocktails and was snarky about making a simple vodka soda. His arrogance was unappealing. Thankfully, the Crafted Palette is across the street, and they serve cocktails in addition to delicious coffees and scratch made breakfasts & lunches. They also sell original artworks and offer blank canvases and art supplies to make your own creations. Their staff are upbeat and nice to chat with. We'd stay at the Plaza Club again. It's clean, reasonably priced, and you just can't beat the location.
