The Franconia Inn

We enjoyed the Inn tremendously from the outdoor pool and hot tub to its location. The room was comfortable and the dinner we had in the pub was really excellent. Everybody who worked there had a great attitude and was very helpful. We especially enjoyed Sarah who checked us in at the front desk. Sarah steered us in the right direction for different things and even forgot to thank her for Polly's Pancakes.

My husband and I came here for our anniversary. We wanted to explore the White Mountains and New Hampshire culture. This was the perfect little place to do it! It was clean, quiet, and so charming! Everyone we met was so friendly! We loved all of the whimsical decor, and had a great time riding the horses around the property, taking in all the forest scenes. We came in the middle of the week for off peak prices and the trade off was that the inn's restaurant and pub weren't open, but the inn's recommended nearby restaurants in Franconia and Littleton were excellent. There were many helpful pamphlets about the surrounding area that we perused, including one one with a little "scavenger hunt" around the inn that we did. It was a cute way to encourage exploration of the building, which we enjoyed. We only wished we could've stayed longer to experience the gliders, which weren't open in the middle of the week. We'll just have to come back and enjoy it again 😊

We had a delightful two-night stay at the Franconia Inn. Booking in advance online was easy and we picked a king room which turned out to be on the ground floor at the end of a hall. A lovely porch was just outside our door. Our room was large and had a comfortable king bed and a good bathroom with excellent shower. We appreciated that the room came with not one but two luggage racks for our suitcases. Traveling for 10 days meant we both had suitcases and it was nice to have a place for each bag. We arrived on a Sunday and booked dinner in the pub in advance. It was excellent. The duck was outstanding and there was a good drinks list. We enjoyed the included breakfast both mornings. Coffee and tea are available 24x7 but breakfast started at 7:30 and came with cereal, fruit and breads and muffins. In advance of our arrival we got several emails from the hotel that provided helpful information on the inn, arrival and parking. On the night of our stay when the restaurant was closed the front desk staff provided several recommendations. Franconia is small and on a Monday many places are closed. We went to Taste the Thai in Littleton (see separate review) based on their recommendation and liked it. The room had strong WiFi. I would encourage guests touring the area to download offline maps and trail maps before leaving the property as cell service is sporadic nearby. All in all a very good choice.
