TownePlace Suites by Marriott Gilford

We had a good one night stay to see a concert at the BHPavilion about 10 minutes away. Suite was clean; no weird smells. AC worked well on a very hot day. Bed was ok but not super comfortable; I know everyone is different but I knocked it down from five stars to four. That said, we would definitely stay again if in the area.

Stated here one 1 night passing through town. Staff were very nice, friendly, and accommodating. They acknowledged my elite status and offered an upgrade. However, we were put in a handicap room/ suite which was awkwardly set up and altogether uncomfortable. The bathroom had a tub that was small and very tight with the handicap bars and seat. Room was a bit worn and needed upgrading. Bed was a bit uncomfortable. Rooms on the back side actually face the highway and a bit noisy. Breakfast was just OK. I dunno…this place has potential…great location….but could be better.

TownePlace Suites by Marriott Laconia Gilford was the perfect home base for our February break ski trip, and I’m already planning to stay there again. We were a family of six in two suites and the team went out of their way to place our rooms right next to each other and accommodate an early check‑in, which made arrival with kids and ski gear incredibly smooth. Even though the hotel was very busy for school vacation week, it never felt chaotic. The pool was in constant use but always had fresh towels stocked, and it was a great way for the kids to unwind after skiing. Mornings were a highlight: the complimentary breakfast far exceeded our expectations, with options ranging from fresh Belgian waffles to hot bacon, egg, and cheese croissant sandwiches, plus plenty of other choices to keep everyone happy. Every staff member we interacted with was genuinely friendly, upbeat, and accommodating,you could tell guest service is a real priority here. The location is fantastic for families skiing at Gunstock, only about a 10‑minute drive to the mountain while still close to restaurants and other Lakes Region attractions. I don’t usually take the time to write hotel reviews, but this stay was exceptional from start to finish and absolutely deserved one. Shout out to Kierah who was an absolute delight even when I heard her dealing with difficult custoners.
