Squam Lake Inn

Start to finish a great weekend stay. Everyone from the owner to the wait staff are friendly but not intrusive. Everything you could need including gas, ice, souvenirs, ice cream etc is all within walking distance. The breakfast that’s included is top notch. You can tell the eggs are farm fresh. The kitchen restaurant on site for dinner was 10,000/10 incredible. I mean hats off to the chef. We ate there both nights. We each tried different things each night. Everything knocked our socks off. Make sure to make reservations here. It’s relaxing to read in the porch after dinner and be steps away from our room. Many hike way and west rattlesnake is a must. Quick moderate hike with hiking shoes and an outstanding view. Local town beach is the only public beach nearby and cost $5 a person. Running along the lake in the area is gorgeous. The white oak room with a private entrance was great for us because we enjoy being introverted. It was quiet even though the restaurant is on site you wouldn’t know. The ac, coffee bar, wifi, small fridge, overall interior design, practical small touches, and tv all made the stay convenient and comfortable. The only negative I could possibly say is that the mattress is very ready to be replaced. It has sunk in the middle. And when we come back- because how could we not?! We very much hope it’s replaced. The bedding was fluffy cozy comfy. I run cold and he runs hot and the amenities worked great for both of us. Everything is so clearly well cared for and clean throughout. Great value for the experience. A perfect cozy, quiet, and romantic getaway. The atmosphere was modern, lake house, Scandinavian. We loved our stay and would recommend to our dearest and closest.

We stayed for a week in the Lilac Room and loved every minute. The breakfasts were all delicious and healthy, and the dinner/drinks at the Inn Kitchen + Bar exceeded all expectations. The staff are genuinely friendly and full of helpful suggestions about local activities. No need to look further for a wonderful accommodation at Squam Lake!

My wife and I stayed here while attending a wedding in the area and celebrating our own wedding anniversary. The inn is charming, very clean, and well maintained. Despite being an old house, the heat/ac worked perfectly to the temp we set and the bathroom was modern and very clean. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. I have a food allergy, and the breakfast service was more than accommodating. I especially appreciated that on our last morning, despite having a different server, she already knew about my allergy.
